Utica Shale SuperEOR & UltraEOR
The graph below compares the recovery of oil from a single stage of a selected Utica shale horizontal rich gas condensate well located in eastern Ohio, with unoptimized SuperEORTM cyclic injection, versus primary (pressure depletion) production. The well had about 6 years of primary production at the start of the SuperEOR process.

Projected cumulative oil produced via SuperEOR is compared to projected primary cumulative oil production in the graph below. The SuperEOR process efficiently extracts oil from this rich gas condensate well that would otherwise not be recovered due to retrograde condensation.

Projected cumulative oil produced via UltraEOR, compared to both SuperEOR and primary oil production is shown in the graph below. The addition of a complex network of fractures at the start of the UltraEOR process enables much better solvent contact with residual oil in the rock matrix, and greater oil recovery.
